This collection of research projects is based on Sustainable Development Goal 12
— Responsible Consumption and Production. Most of the studies focus on obtaining new
products through waste recycling, particularly the production of activated carbon from rice
husks and straw, as well as the development of sorbents from agricultural waste. In
addition, the research addresses efficient resource use through methods to improve wind
turbine performance and the application of next-generation plant growth regulators.
Another important area of the work concerns sustainability in tourism and the
preservation of cultural heritage. The studies aim to enhance the tourism potential of
Astana and Almaty, build a strong “brand city” image, and promote ecological and cultural
responsibility by exploring the harmony between humans and nature in nomadic culture.
These comprehensive studies help reduce the environmental impact of production cycles
and facilitate the transition of society toward a sustainable development model.
